Background:
Longfield School is a comprehensive school for pupils between the ages of 11 and 16. It is a popular and over-subscribed school with many fine traditions and values. It also embraces the latest technological advances in ICT. Children have access to the latest digital resources. The school is delighted to be awarded Specialist Sports College status for September 2004. The school is justifiably proud of its many local, regional, national and international successes. All students are encouraged to take part in activities outside normal school hours. Sports are many and varied including athletics, cricket, cross-country, tennis, football, netball, rugby and trampoline. The school runs foreign exchange visits. Outdoor pursuits are organised and include mountaineering, camping, sailing and canoeing. The school also hosts many community events, to which all are welcomed. The school aims to provide a disciplined, academic and caring environment for all.
