It has been a technology college since 1997, but arts, humanities and physical education are seen as equally important. The school is very much the focus of learning within the community and its long opening hours promote an open access approach. There are also links with local business and commerce. The school has over 950 full-time and 1,000 part-time students. It offers a full range of extra-curricular activities and students have found outstanding success in sport and the arts. The work of the school is supported by a strong contingent of parents who work relentlessly to improve the facilities available for students. In partnership with other schools, the school has established an online learning resource that provides and helps other schools to construct their own websites. The school aims to provide positive, caring, supportive, high achieving with a commitment to continuous improvement.
