Background:
The present school building was opened in 1968 and serves the children of Woodland and surrounding areas. The original school was opened in 1877. The present building is a modern, well-equipped and very spacious building, situated in a rural setting, with a large playing field and hard play area. The school enjoys singing and listening to music as well as playing instruments. Children at this school are engaged in a variety of sporting experiences. All children take part in a traditional inter-schools sports day afternoon, as well as having their own sports on another afternoon. The school aims to ensure that all children are happy and successful during their time at Woodland Primary School.
